Methodology

How we built this guide.

EMPLOI placement data

Ranges reflect the salaries we have negotiated and placed with US clients over the last 12 months, including full-time EOR roles.

Fully-loaded South African cost

The SA figure includes gross salary, employer statutory contributions (income tax withholding, unemployment insurance, and the skills levy), private health coverage (medical aid), retirement fund contributions, and our management fee. It is the total monthly invoice to you.

US benchmark comparison

US equivalents are fully-loaded estimates for a remote hire in a tier-2 or tier-3 US city (salary + benefits + employer taxes). Coastal US salaries would be higher.

Ranges, not guarantees

Each role is priced by seniority, skill set, company stage, and scarcity. Rare specialists or niche tech stacks may sit above the upper bound.

Figures are indicative annual ranges for full-time EOR engagements. Bonuses, equity, premiums for niche skills, and currency fluctuations can move a role above or below these bands. Talk to us for a precise quote for your specific role.

Already paying South African contractors? Long-term contractors who work like employees are a misclassification claim waiting to happen: back pay, penalties, and an ugly CCMA (Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration) case. Converting them to compliant EOR employment takes about two weeks.
